The Bellefontaine Police Department is calling on all incoming fifth-graders.

The BPD will host DARE Day Camps at YMCA Camp Willson on the weeks of July 17th-21st and July 24th-28th.

The camp will run each day from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Students may only attend one week.

Some of the topics covered are relationship building, decision making, personal growth, responsibility, and drug abuse prevention.

The camp will offer many outdoor activities, including swimming, fishing, boating, climbing wall, archery, high ropes adventure, and team building activities. Lunch is provided each day at the camp.

The camp is free and transportation to and from Camp Willson each day will be arranged through Bellefontaine City Schools on a bus route if the student lives within city limits. Students may also be dropped off and picked up by private vehicle.

The deadline to register is July 3rd. Forms are available at the Bellefontaine Police Department, 135 North Detroit Street.

Students attending camp are required to bring a water bottle, swimsuit, and towel every day. You may also want to bring sunscreen and bug spray. Students must wear closed toe shoes.

The camp is first-come first-served. If you have questions, contact Officer Isaac Chiles or Officer Doug Walters at 937-599-1010.
