Bellefontaine City Schools, and the parents and/or guardians of the students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I agree that this compact outlines how parents, the school staff, and students will share responsibility for improved student academic achievement and will build a partnership that will help our students achieve Ohio’s high standards. This school-parent compact is in effect during the school year.

Bellefontaine City Schools will:

* Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet Ohio’s student academic achievement standards.

* Hold parent-teacher conferences at least four times throughout the school year during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.

* Provide parents with frequent reports on their child’s progress.

* Provide parents reasonable access to staff.

  • Email, phone calls, parent nights, open house

* Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class, and to observe classroom activities.

We, as parents, will support our children’s learning in the following ways:

  • Monitor attendance
  • Ensure homework is completed
  • Volunteer in the school
  • Participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to my children’s education
  • Promote positive use of my child’s extracurricular time
  • Stay informed about my child’s academic progress
